The year 1992 marked the creation of the first collection.
Artists, graphic designers, photographers and architects proposed their own interpretation of the illy coffee cup, from soft lines to abstract designs, from human figures to fingerprints. This collection was never available for purchase but was given to bars and restaurants that served illy coffee.
